Parachute (AVSS Config)
The Parachute tab surfaces when a compatible AVSS-equipped aircraft is selected. It shows the current arming status of the parachute system and provides access to device information and IMU calibration.

Parachute Status
A colour-coded status badge at the top of the panel shows the current arm state:
| State | Description |
|---|---|
| ARMED | Parachute is armed and will deploy automatically if triggered |
| DISARMED | Parachute is disarmed and will not deploy |
| WARNING | A warning condition is active; check the status detail |
Status Details
The status detail card provides:
- Arm status text — human-readable description of the current state
- Mode — active AVSS operating mode (when available)
- Ground Detection warning — shown when the aircraft is below 5 m AGL; the parachute is temporarily disabled to prevent accidental ground-level deployment
Arm / Disarm Button
The Arm/Disarm button requires the aircraft to be at or above 5 m AGL with no active warnings before it can be used. When conditions are not met the button is disabled and a note explains the reason.
Manual arming should only be performed immediately before a flight where parachute deployment may be required. Never arm the parachute while the aircraft is on the ground.
Device Information
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Serial Number | AVSS unit serial number (masked in documentation) |
| Firmware Version | Installed firmware on the AVSS module |
| Parachute Packed Date | Date the parachute was last packed or inspected |
IMU Calibration
Shows the calibration status of the AVSS IMU. Calibration status is populated from live telemetry; if the aircraft is offline the field shows “Calibration status not available”.
This tab is only visible when an AVSS-equipped aircraft is the selected device. For non-AVSS aircraft the Parachute tab is present but shows a “no compatible device” message.
